We believe that all dogs deserve exercise, comfort and companionship and during their time with us, that’s what they’ll get.

Village Pets was started as a dog-walking and cat-sitting service in 2016. Vicki, the founder’s love of animals and especially dogs, started from a very young age.

Vicki gained a lot of hands on experience by volunteering at a doggy day care in 2006, long before she’d dreamt of founding her own business to help other dog owners with the worry taking care of their dogs throughout the day whilst they were working..

Vicki continued with her studies and gained her Animal Care and Welfare Qualification whilst raising her family.

In 2016 when she moved to Cranfield it was here that Village Pets was born. Vicki’s vision was to be a reliable, trusted friend for families and their beloved dogs , and build a relationship as their dog walker.

Village Pets continues to grow, and with continued personal development, so do we. We want Village Pets to be the best service your dog could ask for

“Diesel adores Vicki and the team”

On the morning of day care I say do you want to see Vicki he runs to the front door excited! He is so excited when we arrive and will bark if not let out the car In a nano second he comes home happy and tired, and it’s not easy to tire this loon. We were using another day care before and the report at the end of the day is always diesel needed a time out for barking at other dogs, or humping. Which is clearly over excitement and not managed. In the fair few months Diesel has been attending Village Pets, we have never had to have this conversations, this is purely down to Vicki and the team understanding dog behaviour and more importantly to me, my boys triggers and managing that before over excitement happens. Diesel goes on a Wednesday but the centre is so flexible and there have been times I’ve needed to book different days often at very short notice or, ask for different needs to be accommodated and it’s never been a problem. Not only is the day care first class, the team know their stuff, and they understand each dog. I often get told how well behaved Diesel is on walks and I owe services like this a lot of credit. They have worked with me and Diesel to help him become the most amazing pup

“Ziggy is so well looked after and happy”

We adopted a rescue pup, Ziggy, from Cyprus in September 2020. He arrived and settled quickly at home but out on walks he was absolutely terrified of other dogs and generally a nervous and easily spooked little pup.
We went to do a meet and greet with Ziggy and met the lovely Vicki who has been so warm, friendly and supportive since day 1. We started Ziggy on half day visits then a few full days to build his confidence being around other dogs. Vicki was always so considerate of Ziggy’s needs, choosing carefully who to mix him with but we noticed a difference in him after each visit.
We recently left Ziggy at Village Pets for 10 days and were really unsure as to how he would do for so long especially as he was still a slightly nervous boy!
We needn’t have worried! Vicki and her team took such great care of him and he was out on the field playing with SO many dogs and looking as confident and relaxed as any other. We couldn’t believe it was the same dog we had dropped off!
We feel so happy and grateful to have found a place that we trust and where Ziggy is so well looked after and happy. We have no hesitation in recommending Vicki and her team who have done wonders for Ziggy and are far more than just kennels.

I was cautious looking for someone to walk Winston for the same reason as most owners- they want to find someone who will look after their canine member of the family with the same love and care as them.
